About
In early 2006 I was accepted into the LEAD Program in Business at Stanford University. Back then I was little more than a high school punk with a knack for entrepreneurship. Little did I know that this summer program would define my future career path.
Through LEAD I was able to secure an internship at Apple where I found myself working with a 5-man team to design a wireless headset device for the iPod. We dubbed our product “Sound Drops: Live Simple. Live Free. Live Wirelessly.” After presenting our finished product to executives at Apple I came home with a desire to truly optimize my life. I found myself more than ready to start working towards my undergraduate degree at Northwestern University. There was only one thing stopping me from doing so: my senior year of high school. Well that was a fun year… fast forward to 2010.
Northwestern has allotted me the time to focus on my career. As an economics major I find myself analyzing the various macro- and micro-economic forces that affect global market trends. With my half-complete economics degree in hand, I began to actively invest my money in the stock market thinking that it was going to make me a millionaire. Boy was I wrong. I lost a whole bunch of money by committing – what I would now call – “stupid mistakes.” In February 2009 I quit, but not permanently. I stopped trading and started reading, divulging in text after text while experimenting my newfound investment strategies on paper trading systems (fake money). Practice payed off, and in June 2009 I started trading again (with real money, of course). This time around my efforts proved to be a bit more successful, and I’m happy to report that I haven’t stopped trading since then.
My ultimate goal in life is to work at (or co-found) a tech startup. I would love to apply my passion for technology with my economic and financial background. I would also love to try for an MBA, ideally from Stanford University. My love for the school dates back to my time at LEAD and my passion for technology (Stanford resides in the mecca of tech-startups). After that we will see where life takes me. Until then, good luck in all of your goals and wish me luck in all of mine!
